Tour Brown Sites in Topeka
Todd Home
The residence at 1007 Jewell was the home of Mrs. Lucinda Todd. Mrs Todd was the NAACP secretary and the first parent to volunteer to be a plaintiff in this case. Ironically, she had been a teacher in the Topeka Public Schools. She is credited with writing the letter to the National NAACP requesting their assistance with this local case. It was in this house where a lot of the strategy was planned.
