Buchanan Elementary School

Buchanan Elementary Mar. 1996At 12th and Buchanan is the old Buchanan Elementary School building. This was the segregated school Mrs. Todd taught in and her daughter Nancy later attended during the court proceedings in Brown. Mrs. Todd as part of the NAACP plan attempted to enroll her daughter in Randolph Elementary School, then a segregated school for white children.
