branch NAACP President, and an initiator and strategist in the Kansas case.
Cheryl Brown Henderson
Ms. Henderson is a daughter of Oliver Brown, the lead plaintiff and namesake of the Brown v. Board of Education decision. Unfortunately, Ms. Henderson is unable to honor requests for interviews. However, please check the following resources for her perspective on the case.

John Stokes (301-306-5577)
In 1951, Mr. Stokes, his sister Carrie, and most of the student body of R.R. Morton High School made history by staging a strike. As a result of their effort, a school integration case was filed. The NAACP petitioned the Federal District Court in Richmond with the case of Davis v. Prince Edward County. Their case was eventually combined with similar cases and heard by the U.S. Supreme Court under Brown.

* Joy Cabarrus Speakes
Ms. Speakes was one of the students who participated in the strike at Robert R. Moton High School in April of 1951. Her grandfather, George P. Morton, was an avid supporter of the case and also attended the court sessions in Richmond, Virginia.
* Thomas Mayfield
Mr. Mayfield was a teacher of agriculture in one of the "tar paper shacks" at Robert R. Moton High School during the student walkout.
* J. Samuel Williams, Jr.
Mr. Williams was one of the student leaders in the strike at Robert R. Moton High School. He organized, encouraged and motivated student strikers during the two week walkout.
* Deloris Earley
Ms. Earley was involved in the 1959 school closing.
