Teacher Quest Scholarship Program
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Recipients must be enrolled at least half-time as defined by the higher education institution of attendance.
- Applicant must be enrolled at an institution of higher education with an accredited teacher education program.
- Applicant must have been admitted to a teacher education program; confirmation of acceptance must be submitted by May 15, 2010.
- Applicant must have a grade point average at 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale or equivalent (i.e. 4.0 on a 5.0 scale).
- Applicant must submit two references; one from a faculty member or other college/university official and one from a person familiar with the applicant's skills and abilities who is not a family member. Recommendations should take into account leadership, attitude, maturity, initiative, persistence, reliability, and communication skills. Indicate how many years known.

2009 Recipients
Danesha Anderson
Thorndale, PA
Ms. Anderson is a Kappa Delta Pi member at Lincoln University, Pennsylvania. Her goals are to become an Elementary Teacher and to one day open up her own preschool.
Ryan Anthony Durant
Lawrence, KS
Mr. Durant is attending the University of Kansas as part of the
Multicultural Scholars Program. He has worked as a Resident Assistant at an
Upward Bound Program for the last two summers. His goal is to become a Mathematics teacher in a middle school and then an administrator in a middle school.
Melissa Lynn Martinez
La Junta, CO
Ms. Martinez is attending the University of Northern Colorado to become a Mathematics teacher. She has worked for the past two summers at
Las Chicas de Matemáticas, which is a Math Camp for high school girls.
Ashley E. Sell
Lawrence, KS
Ms. Sell is attending The University of Kansas as part of the
Multicultural Scholars Program. Her goals are to become a High School English teacher in a low income area.
Le Tran
Lawrence, KS
Ms. Tran is attending the University of Kansas to become a Special Education Teacher. She volunteer's with
"Families Together," which provides care for children with disabilities. She is a Title 1 reading tutor with the America Reads program.
