Jedidiah Gist is currently a senior at Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He is a history major and aspires to teach high school. His teaching goals include: becoming nationally certified in history, but most importantly uplifting high school students by using his history background to help them pursue their careers. Furthermore, Jedidiah believes in the importance of using history to help students discover who they are and their origins.
Erika Velasco currently attends Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. She plans to obtain a B.A. in Elementary English as a Second Language/Bilingual Education. Erika hopes to help children to reach their full potential by teaching them to the highest standard.
Kandace Weaver plans to attend and graduate from Spelman College in May 2006 with a B.A. in child development. Following graduation, she plans to teach at the elementary level in an urban school district, advocating for underserved youth. Kandace will eventually pursue a master's degree in school administration or counseling and hopes to be able to open a charter school for economically disadvantaged youth.
